1. Agreement
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and NIXLIGHT TECHNOLOGY LIMITED (“Nixlight,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) regarding Tile Tempo: Riichi Mahjong (“Tile Tempo” or “the app”). By downloading, accessing, or using Tile Tempo, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
You must be legally capable of entering into these Terms. If you use Tile Tempo on behalf of a child or another person, you are responsible for their use to the extent permitted by law.
2. Limited license
Subject to these Terms and the rules of the app store from which you obtained Tile Tempo, Nixlight grants you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable license to install and use the app on devices you own or control for personal, non-commercial entertainment.
3. Gameplay and local progress
Tile Tempo is a single-player digital implementation of four-player riichi mahjong. It is designed for entertainment and practice. It is not an official tournament authority, professional certification, gambling service, or wagering product.
Scores, rank points, table points, Coins, records, tournament results, and other in-app values have no real-world monetary value. Tile Tempo does not award cash, cryptocurrency, gift cards, transferable digital assets, or prizes of significant real-world value.
Game progress and preferences are primarily stored on your device. Deleting the app, clearing storage, resetting records, losing the device, or changing backup settings may permanently remove local data. Nixlight generally cannot recover it.
4. Coins and rewarded ads
Non-Premium play may use Coins. Coins are virtual items that can be granted at installation or earned by voluntarily completing a rewarded ad. Coin grants, costs, limits, and availability may change as the app evolves. Coins are licensed, not sold; they are non-transferable, have no cash value, cannot be redeemed, and expire when the associated local app data is removed.
Rewarded ads are optional. A reward may require the ad to load and complete successfully. Ads can be unavailable, delayed, cancelled, or limited by region, device, consent status, network conditions, daily limits, or the advertising provider. No reward is guaranteed for an incomplete or invalid ad event.
6. Third-party services
Tile Tempo relies on platform stores and may use Google AdMob, Google's User Messaging Platform, RevenueCat, Firebase, and Sentry. Those services are operated by third parties and are subject to their own terms, privacy policies, availability, and technical limitations. Review our Privacy Policy for details.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use Tile Tempo in violation of applicable law or app-store rules;
- interfere with, overload, damage, or bypass the app or its services;
- fraudulently obtain Coins, ad rewards, purchases, or entitlements;
- redistribute, sell, rent, sublicense, or commercially exploit the app;
- reverse engineer or circumvent technical protections except where law expressly permits; or
- misrepresent your relationship with Nixlight or Tile Tempo.
8. Intellectual property
Tile Tempo's brand, original software, interface, artwork, characters, writing, and other materials are owned by Nixlight or its licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. Open-source components and licensed assets remain subject to their respective licenses and notices.
If you voluntarily send feedback or suggestions, you permit Nixlight to use them without restriction or compensation, provided we do not publicly identify you without permission.
9. Updates and availability
We may update, rebalance, add, remove, or discontinue app features; change compatibility requirements; correct rules or scoring; or stop supporting a platform version. Some optional services require internet access and may be unavailable. We do not guarantee perpetual operation or compatibility with every device.
10. Disclaimers
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Tile Tempo is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, uninterrupted availability, or error-free operation. We work to implement riichi rules accurately but do not warrant that every ruleset, local variation, score, hint, or AI decision will match every external service or tournament authority.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Nixlight and its licensors will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, progress, profits, opportunity, or goodwill arising from Tile Tempo or a third-party service.
Where liability cannot be excluded, Nixlight's total liability relating to Tile Tempo will be limited to the greater of the amount you paid for Tile Tempo during the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim or the minimum amount required by applicable law. Some jurisdictions do not permit certain exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
12. Suspension and termination
You may stop using Tile Tempo at any time. We may suspend access to an optional network service or terminate this license if you materially violate these Terms, subject to applicable law and app-store rules. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will remain effective.
13. Governing terms
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable where NIXLIGHT TECHNOLOGY LIMITED is established, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where mandatory consumer law in your location provides otherwise. If any provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in effect. Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver.
14. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms as Tile Tempo or applicable requirements change. The effective date identifies the current version. Continued use after updated Terms take effect constitutes acceptance where permitted by law.
